Rock The Block-LA Block Party was a dynamic intersection of entertainment, engagement, and purpose. From live performances that resonated with the crowd to mouthwatering food that satisfied taste buds, "Rock the Block LA Block Party" was a sensory delight. But beyond the glitz and glamor, the true essence was about something much deeper: empowering youth, fostering connections, and making a tangible impact.
Founder, Tanisha Hall of Whitehall Arts Academy, created Rock the Block LA in the spirit of bringing communities together. A foster parent and community activist, Tanisha and her music Academy has always been an inclusive community member. Teaching young people the art of music through instrumentation, Tanisha has hundreds of youth playing piano, violin, guitar, drums and a plethora of other instruments. Her community choir can be seen at most nonprofit events as they bring musical joy and a sense of unity to causes. The She Ready Foundation supports Whitehall Arts Academy and Rock the Block LA gathering in a spirit of togetherness with a shared belief that together we can do anything.
Sponsors gave out sports and arts packages and vendors created a sea of activity for the young people. At the heart of it all, our community made a commitment to uplift youth impacted by foster care and those living in at-risk environments. She Ready Foundation was proud to be part of that impact and will continue to Rock the Block LA celebrating AT-PROMISE YOUTH. We Ready!
