She Ready Foundation’s 2026 Summer Cohort Takes the Spotlight with Time’s Up. Film Premiere
A 12-week journey of creativity, mentorship, and storytelling culminated in an unforgettable night celebrating the next generation of filmmakers.

On August 28, 2026, the She Ready Foundation proudly celebrated the culmination of its 2026 Summer Internship Program with a special screening of Time’s Up. at The Miracle Theatre.

The evening brought together industry professionals, mentors, family members, community supporters, and friends to celebrate an extraordinary group of Transitional Aged Youth (TAY) impacted by the foster care system—and the film they created from the ground up.
More than a premiere, the night represented what can happen when young people are given the tools, mentorship, resources, and space to tell their own stories.
From an Idea to the Big Screen
Over the course of 12 weeks, participants in the She Ready Foundation Summer Internship Program gained hands-on experience across the filmmaking process.
The program provides paid opportunities for TAY in the Greater Los Angeles area who are interested in pursuing careers in entertainment. Throughout the summer, participants worked alongside experienced industry professionals and mentors, developing practical skills both behind and in front of the camera.
This year’s cohort formed their own production company, Fostering Creations, and together developed Time’s Up., a thriller-comedy centered on four teens living in a group home who enter a forbidden room beneath the house and encounter haunting manifestations connected to their deepest wounds.
The interns took ownership of nearly every aspect of the production—from writing and directing to producing, acting, wardrobe, set design, camera work, editing, sound, and music.
The result was more than a finished film. It was a demonstration of creativity, collaboration, resilience, and what young storytellers can accomplish when their voices are supported.
Guided by Mentorship
At the heart of the Summer Internship Program is mentorship.
Returning for her second year, Sonya Marchand, Executive Producer and Co-Founder of P413 Productions, served as Intern Facilitator and helped guide the cohort from initial concept through the final premiere.
Throughout the program, professionals from across the entertainment industry volunteered their time and expertise in areas including directing, cinematography, sound engineering, editing, production design, costume design, acting, writing, music production, story development, marketing, distribution, creative production, AI tools, and pitching.
Their involvement provided participants with something that extends far beyond the classroom: direct access to real-world knowledge, professional guidance, and meaningful relationships with people working within the industry.
A Night Belonging to the Interns
The premiere celebrated every person who contributed to bringing Time’s Up. to life.
She Ready Foundation founder Tiffany Haddish joined the celebration and moderated the post-premiere panel discussion, giving the cohort an opportunity to reflect on their experiences and share the journey behind their film.
The evening also included a special surprise for the interns. Following the screening, wardrobe pieces from the production were gifted to the participants by the award-winning designers and stylists who supported the project.
It was a fitting conclusion to a summer centered on learning, creating, connecting, and believing in what is possible.

Creating a Platform for Young Voices
Founded by actor, comedian, and philanthropist Tiffany Haddish and led by President Dr. Thyonne Gordon, the She Ready Foundation advocates for youth impacted by the foster care system.

The Foundation is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: every young person deserves dignity, stability, opportunity, and a platform to pursue their dreams.
The 2026 Summer Internship Program brought that mission to life.
Through Time’s Up., this year’s cohort transformed personal experiences, imagination, and newly developed filmmaking skills into a story they could call their own.

For the She Ready Foundation, programs like this are about more than preparing young people for careers. They are about creating spaces where young people can discover their voices, build confidence, develop professional skills, and see new possibilities for their futures.
The premiere may have marked the end of this summer’s program, but for these emerging creatives, it is only the beginning.
